What is integrative medicine?
Integrative medicine is an approach to medical care that combines conventional medicine with complementary and alternative practices that have been shown through science to be safe and effective. This approach often stresses the patient's preferences, and addresses the mental, physical, and spiritual aspects of health.
What does an integrative approach cost?
Many factors play into the overall costs for integrative medicine including the patients health history, current diagnosis, healing plan, and length of time established between the patient and their care team.
Most complementary healing modalities are not offered or covered by insurance in the United States, so patients are left without resources or support if they seek treatment outside of conventional medicine. An integrative approach to healing can cost a patient anywhere from $10,000-$100,000 or more a year.
